It’s no secret that Americans have a strong relationship with fast-food. Each day, millions of consumers rely on fast food for indulgent meals or quick bites on the go. With so many options out there, we wanted to learn more about this industry and consumer preferences throughout. To do so, we ran a study with an Implicit Multiple Association Test (MAT) to examine the different characteristics, occasions, and motivations that consumers subconsciously associate with leading fast-food brands and how these brands compare against each other. 

Surveying 393 consumers, we tested 46 associations against six brands including Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, Subway, Taco Bell, Chipotle, and Domino’s.
